I recently embarked on a culinary expedition to Trattoria del Quadrifoglio, a charming Italian restaurant nestled along the poetic banks of the Yoshinose River in Takefu.

From inside the restaurant, through delicate glimpses between branches, you can spot the proud cherry blossoms lining the river—nature’s confetti in full, flamboyant bloom.

Joining us on this indulgent afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Thor—yes, you heard me right, Thor—and my own better half. Between us, we fearlessly sampled both the pasta and pizza lunch courses.
The first act? A salad dressed with a vinegar-based dressing that didn’t whisper its presence… it shouted.

Then came the antipasto: a savory duet of frittata and prosciutto. Beneath the prosciutto—like a secret whispered by the chef—was carpaccio, if memory serves.

For our main performance, we devoured a classic Margherita pizza and a dramatic seafood Pescatore. Oh, the glory!

Thor and his lady ventured into rich territory with a Quattro Formaggi—a cheese quartet of unrivaled harmony—and a timeless tomato-sauced pasta.

And what Italian tale is complete without coffee? Our story paused here with a robust, reflective espresso.

With our stomachs full and hearts content, we sauntered along the river, letting the cherry blossoms enchant us once more, petal by petal, step by dreamy step.
