I went to Houraien in Sabae. Since Toru had been staying in Malaysia for a long time, it was our first lunch gathering in quite a while. But still, after having Chinese food every day in Malaysia, isn’t it ironic that our first lunch back together was Chinese again?
I had tried their takeout before, but this was my first time dining at the restaurant. The table seats were all full, so we sat on the tatami floor seats.

Here’s the menu.

A bowl of ramen for 600 yen these days? That’s quite a bargain.
The gyoza is said to be delicious, so the three of us ordered two servings to share.

I went with the fried rice set (fried rice + ramen).

Toru had the Chinese-style rice bowl set (Chinese rice bowl + ramen).

My wife had just a bowl of ramen.

Not just the exterior, but the taste of the food also gave off a nostalgic Showa-era vibe.
At the end, they even served us some iced coffee.

The end.
