We visited Restaurant Yumeya for a relaxed lunch gathering.
I discovered it while looking at a map—it had a bit of a hidden gem vibe when we got there.
The entrance had a nice charm to it, too.

Inside, the space was surprisingly roomy with quite a few tables. When we arrived, several older diners were enjoying their meals solo. The whole place felt subtly stylish.

The lunch menu offered a good variety. Since we wanted to try different flavors, we each ordered a different dish and shared them around.
Every course meal came with the same salad starter.

Toru ordered the “Service Steak.”

I had the beef tongue stew.

My wife chose the fillet escalope lunch—fillet coated in breadcrumbs and baked in the oven.

We each sampled a bit of everything, and hands down, the beef tongue stew was the winner. Absolutely delicious.
The bread came with both regular and garlic butter.

They even gave us complimentary kinako cookies and warabi mochi for dessert.

Apparently, this restaurant has been around for about 30 years. Hard to believe I’d never heard of it before.
In any case, I’m glad we found it—it’s definitely a place I’d like to visit again.
The end.
